§ 9-1. Definitions.

For the purposes of this chapter the following terms, phrases and words and their derivations shall have the meanings given herein. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future, words used in the plural number include the singular, and words in the singular include the plural. The word "shall" is mandatory not merely directory.
City is the City of Owosso.

Company is the grantee of this franchise.

Council is the City Council of Owosso.

Person is any person, firm, corporation, partnership, association, company or organization of any kind.

Television is the transmission of audio signals and/or visual images by means of electrical impulses.

Signal shall mean the transmission of any signal or data.
